We believe the best training setting for most people and dogs is group classes. This exposes the dogs to new people and dogs, and owner and dog learn to interact with each other even when there are distractions present. There is also the challenge of keeping up with the rest of the class that motivates many people. We offer group classes twice a year at Pensacola State College, once in the Spring starting in February and once in the Fall starting about September. Beginning and Advanced classes are offered, the advanced class works on Canine Good Citizen skills, tricks and a variety of interests of the students.
This is an intensive training program, usually for the teenage dog that has become unbalanced and needs some order restored. Also good for the owner that needs that first line on the page approach and can keep things going once the dog has the behaviors introduced. The usual program is 10 days, in which the dog is introduced to the basic commands and mild distractions.
Also available for the Owner-Trained Service Dog that just needs a little help! We will provide public access exposure for appropriate service-dogs-in-training (SDiT), teach appropriate tasks, or give 'respite care' when you are having an exceptionally difficult time with your young SDiT.
Check out some of my training on youtube! Some are how-to videos, such as the Paper Plate Recall version I do, some are for the service dog certification course I'm enrolled in:
